1A Role Play


A You love eating fast food even though you are having health problems lately. Your friend knows about it and will try to convice you to eat healthier. Despite his/her arguments, you want to continue eating your fast food. Try to give arguments to defend your point of view.

B You have a friend who loves eating fast food but you know that he/she is suffering health problems lately. Try to convince him/her to eat healthier. Recomend him/her a better diet and give him/her good arguments about how a change of habits may improve his/her health. Try to convince him/her.

1B Role Play


A You are a sports person. You love practising a sport (choose one). Tell your friend about it. Tell him/her what, when and how you usually practise it, and a time you had an accident or got a sports injury (what you were doing, how the accident happened, what part of your body you hurt, what happened next, how long it took you to recover). Your friend will tell you a similar story. Show interest and ask him/her questions you want to know about it.

B Your friend is a sports person, and you too. He/She is going to tell you about the sports he/she practises. He/She is going to tell you what, when and how he/she usually practises it, and a time you had an accident or got a sports injury (what you were doing, how the accident happened, what part of his/her body he/she hurt, what happened next, how long it took him/her to recover). Tell your friend about the sport you practise too, and a similar bad experience you had (an accident or injury).

A Tell your friend about your family. Tell him/her what is your position in the family (oldest, youngest, etc.). Share what you think about your personality and compare it with the members of your family. Your friend may disagree with your personal point of view. Listen to his/her description about you and his/her own comparison with members of his/her family.

B Your friend will tell you about his/her family. He/She will tell you what is his/her position in the family (oldest, youngest, etc.). He/She will share what he/she thinks about his/her own personality and will compare it with the members of his/her family. You are going to disagree with his/her personal point of view. At the same time, you will make the same analysis about yourself and will compare you with memembers of your family.


2A Role Play


A You lent money to a relative and he/she hasn't give you back any of it. You need your money to purchase something. You want to ask your relative to give it back to you but you don't know how because you already told him/her and he/she didn't do anything. Ask your friend for suggestions. Tell him/her that now you are very dissapointed about it. Reflect about if you would ever lend someone else money again and what you think about trust.

B Your friend has a problem with some money he/she lent and needs your suggestions. He lent money to a relative who hasn't given him/her anything back. You went through a similar situation a few years ago. Tell him/her what happened and how you solved it and give him/her ideas to recover it.


2B Role Play


A It's a long time you don't see your friend because you went to live to another country. You spent your holidays three years ago abroad in South Africa enjoying the wild. You had such a great experience that you decided to stay and live there. You have just seen your friend by chance. He/She is visiting the country. Tell him/her how your holiday changed your life and what do you do now there.

B You are visiting South Africa. You have just seen an old friend of yours by chance in the wild. He/She wants to tell you how his/her life changed when he/she came to visit the wild in South Africa. Show interest in that holiday and in what he/she does now there. Ask him/her any question you want about the experience he/she has gone through.


2C Role Play


A You had a car crash a few days ago. You are very dissapointed about how drivers don't respect the speed limit and other traffic rules in your city. You strongly think that all traffic problems lay on how bad the traffic rules are settled. Tell your friend about your car crash and what things related with traffic rules should be improved or changed in your city. (You may give examples of incidents you know and give reasons to support your thoughts).

B You have a friend who had a car crash a few days ago. He/She is very dissapointed about the fact that drivers don't respect the speed limit and other traffic rules in your city. He strongly thinks that traffic rules are wrong. You don't agree with him/her because you don't think that the problem lays in bad traffic rules, but in bad drivers who don't respect the rules. (You may give examples of incidents you know and give reasons to support your thoughts).


2 Telling a story


A You have just come back from your holidays but the journey was all a nightmare. Tell your friend all the obstacles you had to go through. Tell your friend all details since you left home until you came back. (hotel, means of transport, the police, traffic jams, delays, etc.)

B Your friend has just come back from a holiday, but all his/her journey was a nightmare. He/She is going to tell you all the obstacles he/she had to go through. Ask any question you would like to know about (schedulles, delays, departures, hotel, etc.).


3B Role Play


A You work for a dating company. Interview your new customer. Ask him/her what kind of person is he/she looking for (physical appearance and personality). Try to offer him/her people you have in your list describing them.

B You are looking for a couple in a Dating Company. Fist answer the questions about yourself that A is going to ask you. Then say the kind of person you want as a couple. Listen to the people that A is going to offer you and try to choose one to have a first date.
